With its wonderfully upbeat nature and deeply important environmental message serving as its main inspiration, Markus Rüeger’s strikingly charming world music-infused folk track „Woman, you are coming home“ is a tune sure to raise a smile and warm many a heart. A tribute to the hard-working women who have dedicated their lives to saving the planet, „Woman, you are coming home“ is Markus Rüeger’s sincere token of appreciation to those specific individuals that have gone above and beyond in a bid to protect what is our most precious gem. Brilliantly combining traditional Celtic folk elements with creatively implemented world music elements, „Woman, you are coming home“ is a fantastic concoction of African-inspired rhythms, folk-styled vocal performances, and rockier-edged lead guitar flourishes.

Strongest Points:
The way world music elements have been weaved into the arrangement is excellent and really gives the track its distinct character, the African-styled poly rhythms contrast brilliantly with the folkier vocal and accordion elements whilst the Knopfler tinted lead guitar interjections help provide some further melodic intrigue as well interesting textural qualities due to the effective use of delay and reverb. The Celtic influence can also be strongly felt, from the subtle woodwind elements to the distinct vocal performance, it makes for a superb blend of complimenting styles. Speaking of the vocals, Markus has a particularly warm and welcoming quality to his vocal presence that adds to the track’s amiable nature profusely, making it easy for listeners to easily get swept up by the song’s pleasant aura.
